Design Inspiration
The TABCOR8177 corner table is a faithful homage to the golden age of French cabinetmaking under Louis XVI. Its square form, graceful tapered and fluted legs, and a richly decorated apron adorned with gilt bronze ormolu swags, ribbon-tied garlands, and acanthus corner cartouches echo the neoclassical elegance championed by the royal ateliers of 18th-century Versailles. The table's surface is a canvas of masterful marquetry — scrolling floral vines, a central bouquet medallion, and delicate foliate borders inlaid across the warm-toned hardwood top.
Materials & Finish
The table is constructed from a solid fine hardwood frame finished in a rich warm brown with hand-rubbed depth and luminosity. The apron panels are set within gilt brass framing and dressed with meticulously cast and hand-chased ormolu bronze mounts in Bright Gold, reproducing the lush decorative vocabulary of the Louis XVI period. The tapered legs are adorned with channelled fluting and topped with foliate brass collars, terminating in polished brass sabots.
Craftsmanship
Every element of this table is produced by hand in Brass & Wood's Egyptian atelier. Marquetry patterns are individually cut and inlaid by skilled artisans, while each bronze mount is cast, filed, and gilded to the highest standards. The result is a piece that rewards close inspection: perfectly mitred corners, seamless veneer joins, and bronze detailing of museum quality.
Placement & Styling
Ideal as a statement side table or accent corner table in a formal living room, reception hall, or grand salon, this piece pairs beautifully with Louis XVI armchairs, silk upholstered sofas, and crystal chandeliers to create an authentically palatial atmosphere.
