Its square silhouette, tapered fluted legs, and symmetrical marquetry surface echo the disciplined grandeur that defined the French royal court at its most sophisticated. Every proportion has been carefully observed to honour the original ébéniste tradition.

Materials & Finish

The table is constructed from solid mahogany, celebrated for its deep, warm grain and exceptional durability. The tabletop features intricate floral and foliate marquetry crafted from contrasting wood veneers, creating a living tapestry of natural colour. The apron is punctuated by a series of hand-painted porcelain or resin medallions set within antique gilt brass frames, while a central cartouche mount and corner acanthus appliqués in ormolu-finished brass add further opulence. Legs terminate in refined brass sabots.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this piece is handcrafted by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt, drawing on centuries of European cabinetmaking tradition. The marquetry is cut and laid by hand, the brass mounts are individually cast and hand-chased, and the finish is applied in multiple layers to achieve a museum-quality depth and lustre.
