Design Inspiration

Rooted in the refined vocabulary of Louis XVI Neoclassicism, this coffee table captures the disciplined grace that defined French court furniture in the late 18th century. Straight, tapered fluted legs replace the curvaceous forms of the preceding Rococo era, while carved acanthus-leaf capitals and rosette corner blocks introduce a sculptural warmth that keeps the piece from feeling austere. The natural marble top — with its soft blue-grey ground and warm amber veining — brings an organic richness that complements the warm walnut finish of the solid wood frame.

Materials & Finish

The frame is constructed from solid hardwood, hand-carved by Brass & Wood craftsmen in Egypt and finished in a warm antique walnut tone that highlights the depth of the carved relief. The apron features a continuous egg-and-dart moulding, a hallmark of Neoclassical ornament. The tabletop is a genuine natural marble slab, chosen for its distinctive blue-grey and amber tones, offering both visual luxury and enduring durability.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this table is shaped by hand in the Brass & Wood atelier. Carvers trace acanthus scrolls and floral rosettes directly into the solid wood, while the legs are individually turned and fluted on a lathe before final hand-finishing. No two pieces are identical — minor natural variations in the marble veining and wood grain are the hallmark of authentic artisanal production.
