Rooted in the splendour of late 18th-century Neoclassicism, this column pedestal draws from the grand architectural vocabulary of ancient Rome and the refined interiors of Louis XVI palaces. The fluted column shaft rises with architectural authority, culminating in an exquisitely detailed Corinthian capital cast in gilt bronze — a nod to the acanthus-leaf carvings that graced the temples of antiquity. The square plinth base, panelled and structured, echoes the symmetry and order that define the Neoclassical ideal.

Materials & Finish

Crafted from genuine marble in a warm ivory tone, the column and base carry the natural veining and cool luminosity that only real stone can offer. The capital, collar ring, and decorative urn mounts are rendered in hand-finished gilt bronze (ormolu), displaying the rich warmth of aged gold against the crisp white of the marble. Each bronze element is individually cast and hand-chased, ensuring no two pedestals are exactly alike.

Craftsmanship

Every piece is handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt, where artisans trained in classical European traditions shape, assemble, and finish each component with meticulous care. The ormolu urn appliqué on the plinth face — featuring cascading foliage and a classical vase motif — is a hallmark of the refined ébénisterie tradition. This pedestal is designed to display sculptures, art objects, busts, or floral arrangements with regal distinction.
