Its swelling, curved silhouette — widest at the centre — is a signature of the period, evoking movement, femininity, and aristocratic refinement. Cascading floral vines trail across the side panel in breathtaking relief inlay, while the top surface is crowned with an intricate bouquet composition, making every angle a work of art.

Materials & Finish

Crafted from solid hardwood, the commode is clad in a rich tapestry of hand-cut marquetry veneers in warm walnut, rosewood, and satinwood tones. Herringbone parquetry borders frame each drawer front and side face with geometric precision. Gilded antique brass ormolu mounts — corner acanthus capitals, drawer pulls, and sabots — add a warm golden accent that honours the 18th-century originals. The overall finish presents a warm, honey-toned patina evoking centuries of heritage.

Craftsmanship – Handmade in Egypt by Brass & Wood

Every piece in this collection is entirely handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt. Master artisans cut, fit, and glue each veneer sliver by hand before hand-carving the floral motifs and fitting the brass hardware. Five deep drawers provide generous storage while the graceful cabriole legs, tipped with brass sabots, ensure the piece stands with timeless poise. This commode is not merely furniture — it is a statement of living history.
