Every ormolu mount — from the corner cartouches and escutcheons to the flowing foliate friezes — is cast in brass and finished in warm antique gold, replicating the doré au feu technique of the original French masters.

Craftsmanship & Detail

Each commode is entirely handcrafted in Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier. Artisans hand-apply the burr walnut veneer across the bombé curves, a technically demanding process that requires precision cutting and careful steam-shaping. Brass mounts are individually cast, chased by hand, and lacquered to a luminous antique-gold finish. The two spacious drawers operate on smooth wooden runners, offering generous storage without compromising the piece's sculptural integrity.
