Materials & Finishes

The table top is hewn from a slab of white veined marble, its cool luminosity providing a striking contrast to the warm, deep-toned solid wood frame below. The frame is finished in a rich dark lacquer that accentuates the handcarved details, while selective gilding in a warm gold leaf finish highlights the bead mouldings, fluted column capitals, and the elegant four-petal rosettes at each corner. Slender, tapered fluted legs terminate in small gilt rings above squared feet, a hallmark of authentic Louis XVI construction.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this corner table is shaped and finished by hand by Brass & Wood's master craftsmen. The fluting on each leg is individually carved, the rosettes are relief-carved from solid wood, and the bead-and-reel frieze is meticulously applied and gilded by hand.
