Rooted in the refined elegance of the Louis XVI court, this tea trolley captures the neoclassical spirit of late 18th-century French design. Graceful tapered legs capped with gilt-bronze sabots, swag garland friezes, and soaring acanthus-scroll uprights supporting a removable tray tier evoke the grandeur of Versailles entertaining. The piece functions equally as a statement side table and a practical service trolley.
The framework is constructed from solid mahogany finished in a rich, deep burgundy lacquer that showcases the wood's natural grain. Both the primary oval surface and the removable upper tray feature elaborate floral marquetry inlaid with contrasting veneers. All hardware — including corner capitals, swag mounts, acanthus uprights, tray gallery rails, and caster caps — is cast in solid brass and hand-finished in antique gold.
Every piece is hand-built in Brass & Wood's Cairo atelier by artisans trained in classical European joinery and metalwork traditions. The marquetry is individually cut and inlaid by hand; the brass mounts are lost-wax cast and hand-chased before receiving their warm antique-gold patina. This painstaking process ensures that each trolley is a singular work of functional art.
