Rooted in the refined aesthetic of Mughal imperial courts, this coffee table pays homage to the legendary pietra dura inlay tradition of 17th-century India — the same artistry that adorns the walls of the Taj Mahal. A symmetrical field of scrolling vines, lotus blossoms, and jewel-toned botanical motifs radiates from a central medallion across the pristine white marble surface, while the apron and turned legs continue the floral narrative in brass and semi-precious stone inlay on wood.
The top is hewn from solid white marble, hand-inlaid with natural semi-precious stones — including lapis, cornelian, and malachite — set into hairline-precise channels to create a mosaic of colour that glows under ambient light. The base is crafted from solid natural wood, turned on a lathe into elegant baluster legs with decorative ring detailing. The apron panels carry their own inlaid floral compositions, maintaining visual continuity from surface to floor.
Each table is produced by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt, drawing on centuries of inlay tradition. The stone setting, the carving of the wood base, and the hand-finishing of every surface are performed entirely by hand, making each piece a singular work of applied art. No two tables are identical in the precise arrangement of their stone tessellations.
