Drawn from the exuberant courts of eighteenth-century France, this set of three nesting tables captures the very soul of Louis XV Rococo. Sinuous cabriole legs flow into elaborately carved acanthus-scroll aprons, while the scalloped skirt and claw-and-ball feet echo the organic, asymmetrical energy that defines the era. The layered nesting format was a favourite device of the French aristocracy — space-conscious yet infinitely gracious — and Brass & Wood honours that tradition with meticulous fidelity.
Each table is constructed from kiln-dried solid hardwood, shaped and hand-carved by Brass & Wood artisans in Cairo. The frame and legs receive multiple coats of gesso before being gilded in genuine gold leaf, burnished to a warm antique lustre. The tabletop surfaces are dressed in a deep dark-walnut veneer framed by a slender gold-leaf border, creating a striking tonal contrast that elevates any interior. A final protective lacquer coat ensures lasting beauty under daily use.
Every scrollwork volute, every acanthus leaf, and every cabriole curve is cut and refined entirely by hand — no two sets are identical. Brass & Wood's master craftsmen follow centuries-old joinery techniques, using mortise-and-tenon construction for structural integrity and hand-finishing each gilded surface to achieve a depth of colour impossible to replicate by machine.
