Design Inspiration
Rooted in the refined elegance of the Louis XVI court, this set of four nesting service tables captures the Neoclassical spirit at its most graceful. Slender tapered legs, precise geometric proportions, and restrained ornament reflect the Enlightenment's turn away from Rococo excess toward rational beauty. The graduated sizes allow the tables to tuck seamlessly beneath one another, a design both practical and aesthetically harmonious — a hallmark of 18th-century French cabinetry.
Materials & Finish
Each table is constructed from solid mahogany and richly grained burr veneer, hand-cut and assembled by Brass & Wood master craftsmen. The tabletops are adorned with intricate marquetry panels featuring flowing acanthus scrolls, floral medallions, and symmetrical arabesques executed in contrasting light and dark exotic woods. Antique brass gallery rails crown the largest table, while gilded brass corner mounts and sabots accent every piece. Legs are turned and fluted in the Louis XVI manner, terminating in polished brass sabots.
Craftsmanship
Every piece in this set is handcrafted at the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt, where traditional European joinery techniques are preserved and practised. Marquetry veneers are individually cut, laid, and hand-polished to a warm satin sheen. Metal mounts are cast in brass and hand-finished to an antique gold tone, ensuring authenticity of character that mass production cannot replicate.
