Inspired by the grandeur of the French Empire period, this round pedestal dining table embodies the disciplined opulence of early 19th-century Napoleonic interiors. The circular top, urn-shaped central column, and sweeping quadripartite platform base are hallmarks of the Empire idiom — monumental yet refined, commanding yet welcoming at the dining table.
Crafted from richly figured hardwood with a deep, high-gloss hand-rubbed finish that reveals dramatic flame-figuring across the top and apron panels. Gilded brass ormolu mounts — including scrolling acanthus friezes along the apron, laurel-leaf appliqués on the column, and rosette cartouches at the base corners — provide luminous contrast against the warm mahogany tones. Brass bead-and-reel mouldings edge both the tabletop and the platform base.
Each table is handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Cairo, combining traditional joinery techniques with hand-applied gilded brass castings. The vase-form pedestal is turned and hand-finished, while the apron features precision marquetry banding. Every brass mount is individually fitted and secured to ensure lasting integrity.
