The Brass & Wood Empire Marquetry Dining Table draws its inspiration from the majestic court furniture of the First French Empire, a period defined by classical symmetry, disciplined ornamentation, and an uncompromising pursuit of magnificence. Every detail of this table speaks to that heritage, from the central oval medallion rendered in intricate marquetry to the broad decorative apron that encircles the perimeter.
The table top is crafted in solid wood and adorned with a masterfully executed marquetry composition featuring warm amber and honey-toned veneers arranged in geometric and floral patterns. The apron and square tapered legs are finished in a deep ebonised tone, serving as a dramatic foil to the lavish gilt-bronze ormolu mounts: continuous bead-and-reel friezes, acanthus-leaf corner capitals, draped swag appliqués, and floral cartouche centrepieces cast and chased by hand.
Each table is entirely handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier in Cairo. Skilled artisans hand-cut every veneer piece, assemble the marquetry field, and individually apply and polish each bronze mount. The result is a singular object of decorative art as much as a functional dining surface.
This configurable dining table is available in 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, and 32 seating capacity options, making it equally suited to intimate family gatherings and grand palatial banquets. Please select your preferred seating capacity from the option above.
