Rooted in the golden age of the French court, this guéridon side table draws directly from the celebrated Sèvres manufactory tradition. Deep cobalt bleu-de-roi grounds frame hand-painted cartouches bursting with roses, pansies, and tulips — motifs that graced the royal apartments of Versailles. The dramatic scalloped apron, swept in midnight cobalt and edged with gilt-bronze beading, captures the exuberant spirit of Louis XV Rococo at its most theatrical.
The table is constructed from high-fired cobalt porcelain with polychrome hand-painted floral decoration and gilt tracery on a rich bleu-de-roi ground. Ormolu-quality gilt-bronze mounts — cast and hand-chased by Brass & Wood artisans — ornament the apron with acanthus-leaf escutcheons and crown the tripod base with scrolling dolphin feet, each terminating in a crisp shell motif. The tabletop presents a central floral medallion surrounded by four reserve cartouches, all framed within a finely beaded gilt-bronze gallery rim.
Every Brass & Wood piece is individually assembled in our Cairo atelier. Master craftsmen fit each gilt-bronze mount by hand, ensuring a perfect marriage between metal and porcelain. The tripod base features three sinuous legs joined at a central gilt-bronze rosette, providing both structural elegance and stability. Crystal-set screws at the mount junctions add a subtle jewel-like accent consistent with 18th-century French ébénisterie practice.
