Description

Design & Inspiration

Inspired by the refined neoclassical workshops of late 18th-century Paris, this corner table embodies the elegance that defined the Louis XVI era. Its architectural tapered legs, disciplined symmetry, and restrained yet opulent ornamentation echo the celebrated ébénistes of Versailles — transforming a functional accent piece into a work of art worthy of a royal salon.

Materials & Finish

The table is built on a solid mahogany frame with hand-carved, fluted tapered legs terminating in polished brass sabots. The apron is richly adorned with hand-gilded ormolu mounts — scrolling acanthus foliage, classical figural cartouches, and hand-painted porcelain medallions depicting mythological cameo portraits. The tabletop showcases a stunning parquetry and marquetry composition in contrasting exotic veneers, arranged in radiating geometric and floral motifs. Every brass element is cast and chased by hand before receiving a warm antique gold finish.

Craftsmanship

Every table is entirely handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier using time-honoured joinery and gilding techniques. Skilled artisans spend countless hours laying each veneer piece by hand, casting and finishing each ormolu mount individually, and setting each porcelain medallion with precision — ensuring a level of detail and permanence that mass production can never replicate.
