The TABCOR1935 corner table draws directly from the refined vocabulary of the Louis XVI period — an era defined by its return to classical antiquity, symmetry, and architectural rigour. Fluted legs crowned with Corinthian-inspired capitals, a densely carved foliate apron, and a gently serpentine tabletop silhouette all combine to evoke the grandeur of the pre-revolutionary French court, reimagined for today's discerning living room.
Materials & Finish
The solid wood frame is enveloped in a lustrous gold-leaf finish applied by hand, lending every carved surface a warm, luminous depth. The tabletop is crafted from a single slab of richly veined black marble — most consistent with Nero Marquina characteristics — whose cool, dramatic surface contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the gilded base. The result is a timeless dialogue between stone and gilded wood.
Craftsmanship
Every element of this table is shaped and finished by Brass & Wood's master artisans in Egypt. The acanthus-leaf carvings along the apron, the rope-twist detailing on the leg transitions, and the bead-and-dart moulding beneath the marble are executed entirely by hand — a process that cannot be replicated by machine production. Each piece is therefore subtly unique, bearing the character of its maker.
