Inspired by the refined opulence of the French Royal Court under Louis XVI, this monumental demilune console embodies the Neoclassical ideal of symmetry, restraint, and grandeur. Its sweeping curved silhouette, borrowed from the great ébénistes of 18th-century Versailles, commands attention in any palatial interior. Brass & Wood artisans have faithfully recreated every architectural detail, from the swag-and-urn ormolu frieze to the delicately inlaid parquetry surface.
The console is constructed from solid mahogany, chosen for its rich warm grain and exceptional structural integrity. The top features a hand-laid diamond parquetry in contrasting mahogany veneers, centred by an elaborate floral marquetry medallion. All mounts — including the central festoon plaque, corner urns, leg collars, and brass sabots — are cast in solid brass and hand-finished in an antique gold ormolu patina. Tapered, fluted legs are crowned with gilded bronze capitals, while a lower stretcher shelf echoes the demilune form for both elegance and practicality.
Every piece is individually handcrafted in the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt, where master carvers, marqueteurs, and metal chasers collaborate on each commission. The parquetry inlay is cut and fitted by hand; the brass castings are chased and polished individually before being lacquered to preserve their luminosity. The result is a console table that transcends furniture and becomes an heirloom.
