Rooted in the elegance of 18th-century French court furniture, this Louis XV console table captures the flowing asymmetry and organic warmth that define the Rococo spirit. The serpentine silhouette, gently curved apron, and sweeping cabriole legs echo the refined extravagance favoured by the nobility of Versailles, reimagined by Brass & Wood's master craftsmen for the modern luxury interior.
The table is constructed from richly grained solid mahogany, book-matched across the top surface to create a striking natural chevron pattern. Deep walnut-toned veneers frame the apron and lower shelf, while hand-cast antique gilt-bronze ormolu mounts — featuring scrolling acanthus, floral garlands, and a central medallion cartouche — are applied at the frieze, corners, and sabots to provide luminous contrast and authentic period detail.
Every element of this console is handcrafted in Egypt by Brass & Wood artisans trained in classical European joinery and metal casting. The ormolu pieces are individually cast, chased, and fire-gilded to achieve the warm 24-karat gold tone characteristic of 18th-century Parisian bronziers. The lower shelf mirrors the shaped outline of the top, unifying the composition and providing practical display space without compromising the piece's sculptural grace.
