Design Inspiration
The SALCHA1970 Bergère draws its spirit from the refined interiors of Louis XVI France, where graceful symmetry, restrained ornament, and superb comfort defined aristocratic living. Brass & Wood's artisans have faithfully reinterpreted this neoclassical icon, preserving every hallmark — from the arched crested rail adorned with hand-carved floral rosettes to the elegantly tapered and fluted legs that anchor the composition with quiet authority.
Materials & Upholstery
The frame is constructed from seasoned solid hardwood, shaped and hand-carved in our Egyptian workshops to replicate the delicate scrollwork, acanthus-leaf armrest brackets, and dentil-banded seat rail of the original period. The seat cushion is upholstered in a luxurious ivory-ground damask, its classic medallion motif rendered in soft sage and warm sand tones. The inner back and outer side panels are dressed in a crisp off-white linen fabric, while the backrest features authentic button-tufted (capitonné) detailing that adds depth and tactile richness. The wood is finished in a warm medium-brown hand-rubbed tone that highlights the carved relief without overpowering it.
