The tall, rectangular back with twin flanking columns, arched cresting rail, and symmetrical gilt bronze mounts reflect the era's love of classical Roman and Egyptian motifs translated into refined domestic furnishing.
Materials & Finish
The frame is constructed from fine solid hardwood finished in a rich dark brown tone that highlights the wood's natural grain. Polished gilt bronze appliqués — including a floral crest at the top rail, square corner plaques, and a decorative apron mount — add warm golden brilliance throughout. The seat and back are upholstered in a luxurious ivory fabric with an all-over chevron weave, edged with a delicate cord trim.
