Description

Design & Inspiration

Few objects command a room quite like a chandelier conceived in the Rococo spirit. This handcrafted five-arm brass chandelier draws directly from the exuberant visual language of the Louis XV period — a moment in European decorative arts when symmetry softened into swirling acanthus scrolls, and every surface became an opportunity for ornamental delight. Suspended from its richly worked ceiling canopy, this piece casts warm, dancing light through etched hurricane glass shades, sending prismatic reflections across the room via its cascading faceted crystal drops. The result is not mere illumination — it is theater.

Materials & Craftsmanship

The armature is cast and hand-finished in solid brass, shaped into deeply sculpted C-scroll and acanthus-leaf formations that spiral outward from a central baluster column. Each of the five arms follows a graceful upswept curve, terminating in a bobeche platform from which teardrop and faceted crystal pendeloques hang in layered tiers. The hurricane-form glass shades — a direct reference to eighteenth-century candlelight protectors — are etched with delicate floral motifs, softening the bulb light into a warm ambient glow. The entire piece is handcrafted by Egyptian artisans schooled in classical European metalworking traditions, with each brass component individually polished to achieve a consistent warm lustre.

Dimensions & Details

The chandelier spans five arms arranged in a single-tier formation around a central drop column, with an approximate shade diameter of 50 cm. Weighing 4 kg, it is suitably proportioned for dining rooms, entrance halls, living rooms, and formal reception areas. Compatible with 110V/220V electrical systems, it accepts standard E14 candle-base bulbs (up to 40W per arm), and is supplied ready for wall-switch operation. Minimal assembly — connecting the canopy, chain, and arms — is required upon installation.

Handcrafted in Egypt

At Brass & Wood, every piece in our lighting collection is produced in Egypt by artisans who have inherited and refined the classical European metalworking vocabulary over generations. This chandelier is no exception: from the initial wax-pattern casting of each brass scroll to the hand-polishing of every crystal pendant, the process is deliberate and unhurried. We offer customization in finish color — Gold, Silver, or Antique Gold — to suit the specific tone of your interior scheme. Delivery is completed within 30–45 days from order confirmation.
