Description

Design Inspiration

The ENTSAL2364 armchair is a faithful homage to the exuberance of the Louis XV period — an era celebrated for its fluid curves, asymmetrical flourishes, and a deliberate rejection of rigid formality. The sweeping barrel-back silhouette, the sinuous crest rail carved with a shell motif, and the generously scrolled arms all speak the unmistakable language of French Rococo at its most refined. Brass & Wood artisans studied period originals to ensure every curve flows with the organic rhythm that defines authentic 18th-century French design.

Materials & Finish

The frame is constructed from a solid wood foundation, shaped and hand-carved before receiving multiple layers of gold-leaf gilding that produce the warm, luminous finish visible across every sculpted surface. Carved floral and acanthus motifs adorn the apron and crest rail, while the cabriole legs terminate in elegant scroll feet. The seating surfaces are enveloped in a smooth, close-woven ivory fabric whose soft neutral tone allows the golden frame to take centre stage. A coordinating light blue damask accent cushion is included.

Craftsmanship

Every piece bearing the Brass & Wood name is built entirely by hand in Egypt by craftsmen trained in classical European joinery and decorative carving traditions. Mortise-and-tenon construction and hand-applied gilding ensure structural integrity and a finish that deepens beautifully with age. No two chairs are identical — minor variations in the carving and gilding are the hallmark of genuine handcraft.
