Rooted in the grandeur of the French Empire period, this console table channels the bold symmetry and imperial confidence that defined Napoleon's era. Slender ebonised columns rise from reeded gold-leaf capitals, supporting a richly figured burr-walnut top edged with a continuous brass fretwork frieze. A sweeping oval stretcher at the base ties the four legs together with effortless architectural poise, while gilded rosette mounts at each capital corner add a jewel-like finishing touch.
The primary structure is built from kiln-dried solid wood finished in a deep ebonised lacquer — a hallmark of Empire-era cabinetmaking. The tabletop showcases a hand-selected burr-walnut veneer whose swirling grain creates natural depth and warmth. All decorative mounts, the fretwork apron panels, and the stretcher accents are rendered in solid brass, hand-chased and finished with genuine gold leaf to achieve a rich, luminous patina that will not tarnish over time.
Every console is assembled by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt using time-honoured joinery techniques. Mortise-and-tenon joints ensure structural integrity, while each brass element is individually cast, filed, and polished before being hand-applied to the frame. The result is a piece that bears the subtle, irreplaceable character of the human hand — no two consoles are precisely identical.
