Inspired by the refined elegance of the French royal court under Louis XVI, this console table embodies the pinnacle of neoclassical decorative arts. The sweeping ormolu garlands cascade across the apron in a graceful arc of hand-cast brass roses and foliage, anchored by a central floral bouquet mount of exceptional sculptural quality. The composition reflects the celebrated work of the great Parisian ébénistes of the late 18th century.
The top is veneered in contrasting burr walnut and satinwood with a central oval medallion of hand-laid floral marquetry — an intricate mosaic of botanicals rendered in exotic timber veneers. The solid wood frame is finished in a warm amber lacquer with ebonised mouldings, creating a dramatic contrast that highlights every gilded bronze accent. All ormolu mounts are precision cast in brass and hand-finished to an antique gold patina.
Every element of this console is produced by Brass & Wood master craftsmen in Egypt, following centuries-old European joinery traditions. The tapered, ebonised pillar legs are adorned with applied ormolu panels, resting on gilded block feet. A gracefully curved serpentine stretcher connects the legs at the base, crowned by a central ormolu urn finial. The result is a piece of furniture that transcends function and becomes sculpture.
