Rooted in the golden age of French Rococo, this vitrine cabinet evokes the exuberant craftsmanship of 18th-century Parisian ébénistes. Its sinuous silhouette, bombe-shaped body, and serpentine cabriolet legs capture the spirit of Louis XV's court, where decorative display cabinets were prized as symbols of refinement and cultural prestige.
The case is veneered in deep-toned kingwood arranged in a herringbone parquetry pattern, framed by fine brass stringing. Four curved glass panels — front, sides, and back — create an unobstructed 360° view of displayed objects. A polished glass interior shelf completes the showcase. Gleaming antique-gold ormolu mounts — a floral basket at the door pull, foliate corner appliqués, scrolling apron cartouches, and slender sabots at the feet — are cast in solid brass and hand-chased to period-accurate detail.
Every piece leaves the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt after passing through the hands of master woodworkers, marquetry specialists, and metal-chasers. Solid-wood structural frames ensure lasting stability, while each ormolu mount is individually fitted and polished to a warm, luminous gold tone. The result is a functional work of art that holds its own alongside museum-quality antiques.
