Inspired by the grandeur of the French First Empire, this dining chair by Brass & Wood embodies the commanding elegance that defined Napoleonic-era interiors. The shield-shaped back, sweeping carved crest rail adorned with gilded brass ormolu foliage, and the precisely proportioned silhouette pay faithful homage to the Empire period's signature aesthetic.
The frame is crafted from solid wood finished in a warm medium-brown tone, contrasted by ebonised black panels on the legs and seat rail. Lavish gilded brass ormolu appliqués — including a central floral crest, vase medallion, scrolled apron mount, and brass sabots at the foot — elevate the piece to a work of decorative art. The seat and back are upholstered in a navy blue damask fabric with a richly tonal floral pattern.
Every element is hand-assembled and finished by skilled Cairo artisans at Brass & Wood's workshop. The ormolu mounts are individually applied and polished, while the damask upholstery is hand-fitted for a precise, tailored finish. The tapered, fluted legs bear repeating gilded bead detailing along their length, reflecting the meticulous standards of classical European joinery.
This chair is available in With Arms and Without Arms configurations, allowing you to compose a dining setting tailored to your space and preference.
