Drawing directly from the refined elegance of the Louis XVI court, this Brass & Wood dining chair embodies the neoclassical revival at its most expressive. The shield-shaped cane back, crowned by a hand-carved floral medallion and framed by acanthus-leaf gilded mouldings, recalls the artisan traditions of 18th-century French royal workshops. It is available in With Arms and Without Arms arm type configurations to suit your dining arrangement.
The solid wood frame is finished in an antique ivory lacquer with lavish gold-leaf gilding applied to every carved detail — from the acanthus capitals of the fluted tapered legs to the bead-and-reel apron moulding. The back panel features traditional hand-woven cane work set within the ornate carved surround. The generously padded seat is upholstered in a fine pleated grey velvet, edged with a delicate nailhead brass trim.
Every chair is individually handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Cairo. The carving, gilding, cane weaving, and upholstery are all executed by hand, ensuring that each piece carries the subtle distinctions of true artisanal manufacture. The pleated velvet seat treatment is a signature detail that adds textural depth and visual movement to the composition.
This configurable chair is available in two arm type variants: Without Arms for classic dining use, and With Arms for a more ceremonial or throne-like presence at the head of the table. Both variants share the same carved frame, cane back, and velvet seat.
