The deep cobalt ground, saturated to the richness of lapis lazuli, provides a dramatic canvas against which scrolling gold acanthus arabesques sweep freely across the body. A hand-painted floral medallion — its bouquet of roses, peonies, and mixed blooms rendered with the delicate naturalism of Rococo botanical illustration — anchors the composition on the principal face. This is a Baroque-Rococo interpretation faithfully honouring the spirit of the great covered urns that once graced the mantlepieces and console tables of European royal courts.

The vase body is formed in fine ceramic, fired to vitreous density, and hand-decorated with polychrome enamels and burnished gold overglaze.
