Inspired by the graceful furniture workshops of 18th-century Versailles, this Louis XVI tea trolley captures the height of Neoclassical luxury. Its three-tier silhouette — crowned by a removable gilt-bronze gallery tray — recalls the formal elegance of royal salons where afternoon tea was a ceremonial affair. Brass & Wood has faithfully recreated every architectural detail, from the delicate swag-and-ribbon friezes to the scrolled bronze side handles.
The body is crafted from solid mahogany, finished in a rich burgundy lacquer and adorned with hand-painted gold floral motifs on every surface. Ormolu-style gilt bronze mounts — including corner brackets, column rings, frieze panels, and the pierced-gallery tray frame — add a luminous gilded contrast. Tapered, fluted legs end in polished brass sabots with rolling casters for effortless movement.
The top removable tray features a pierced brass gallery border ideal for displaying fine porcelain. The main mahogany shelf hosts a central drawer with three gilt-bronze relief panels depicting garlands and floral swags. The lower shelf repeats the hand-painted floral medallion, providing generous storage for linens or additional service pieces.
Each piece is individually handcrafted in our Cairo atelier by master artisans trained in the European classical tradition. Joinery, painting, gilding, and bronze casting are all executed in-house, ensuring a coherence of quality that mass production cannot replicate. This trolley is not merely furniture — it is a living heirloom.
