Design Inspiration
Drawing from the grandeur of the French Empire and Neoclassical periods, this Brass & Wood dining table commands presence in any formal setting. The rectangular top is framed by a precisely ruled border inlay, from which flowing acanthus scrolls and symmetrical foliate cartouches radiate across the deep mahogany-toned surface — a composition that recalls the opulent interiors of 19th-century palatial dining rooms.
Materials & Finish
The table top is crafted from solid wood finished to a mirror-like high gloss, showcasing richly figured veneer with warm reddish-brown tones. Elaborate hand-cut marquetry inlays in lighter wood and mother-of-pearl accents create the ornamental surface patterns. The apron is dressed with a continuous gilded brass ormolu frieze of interlocking laurel and acanthus, while the sabre-style legs terminate in brass sabots. A cream-lacquered banding separates the top from the brass-trimmed apron.
Craftsmanship
Each table is entirely handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Cairo. The marquetry work is hand-cut and individually fitted, the ormolu brass casting is hand-finished, and the high-gloss lacquer surface is built up through multiple hand-applied coats and hand-polished to a flawless mirror finish. This level of craft ensures no two pieces are identical.
