Description

Design Inspiration

Rooted in the refined aesthetic of 18th-century French Neoclassicism, this corner table embodies the restrained grandeur of the Louis XVI period. Inspired by the celebrated pieces produced for Versailles and the French royal court, it balances geometric clarity with extraordinary decorative opulence — a testament to Europe's golden age of cabinetmaking.

Materials & Finishes

The table is constructed from solid mahogany hardwood, its deep reddish-brown tone providing a rich backdrop for the elaborate surface decoration. The tabletop is adorned with a complex parquetry and marquetry pattern using multiple exotic wood veneers — walnut, satinwood, and fruitwood — arranged in a symmetrical medallion composition. The apron is mounted with a continuous frieze of hand-painted porcelain medallions in the Sèvres manner, each depicting pastoral and figurative scenes in soft polychrome hues. Gilded ormolu brass mounts frame the apron, corners, and leg capitals, finished in warm antique gold to evoke authentic period patina.

Craftsmanship

Every detail of this table is handcrafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt, drawing on centuries of European cabinetmaking tradition. The marquetry veneer work is cut and laid by hand, the porcelain medallions are individually painted, and the ormolu mounts are cast and chased to capture the finest relief detail. The four slender, fluted tapered legs terminate in delicate brass sabots, completing a silhouette of perfect Neoclassical proportion.
