Description

Design & Inspiration

Rooted in the grandeur of the French Louis XV era, this console table captures the essence of 18th-century Rococo elegance. Its sweeping cabriole legs, serpentine apron, and richly inlaid marquetry surface pay homage to the ornate craftsmanship that defined the courts of Versailles. Brass & Wood brings this timeless silhouette to life with meticulous attention to historical accuracy and aesthetic refinement.

Materials & Finish

Crafted from premium solid mahogany, the table features a spectacular floral marquetry top composed of contrasting wood veneers in warm amber and deep walnut tones. The apron and legs are adorned with hand-applied gilded ormolu mounts — including a central laurel wreath medallion, floral swags, and acanthus corner accents — all finished in lustrous antique gold. A bevelled glass top protects the surface while lending a contemporary refinement.

Craftsmanship

Every element of this console is shaped, carved, and assembled by hand in the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt. The ormolu bronze ornaments are individually cast and hand-polished before being secured to the mahogany frame. The marquetry inlay is meticulously cut and fitted by skilled artisans, ensuring perfect symmetry and a seamless finish that honours centuries of European cabinetmaking tradition.
