Rooted in the grandeur of the French Empire period, this pedestal column captures the bold monumentality favoured by Napoleon's court designers. The soaring gilt bronze shaft, wrapped in flowing spiral reliefs of acanthus leaves, laurel garlands, and classical rosettes, rises from a solid rose marble plinth that anchors the composition with aristocratic weight. Star-medallion inlays on the marble faces echo the Napoleonic iconography that defined an era.
The column shaft and capital are cast and hand-chased in solid brass with a warm gold-leaf finish, faithfully replicating the ormolu technique of 19th-century Parisian workshops. The base and cap are hewn from genuine rose-veined marble, each piece unique in its natural patterning. A finely beaded brass moulding trims the plinth, unifying the two materials with elegant precision.
Every detail is produced by Brass & Wood master artisans in Egypt, who combine traditional hand-engraving with classical European casting methods. The spiral relief on the shaft is individually chased, ensuring no two columns are identical. This pedestal is equally at home bearing a sculpture, a prized vase, or standing as a sculptural statement in its own right.
