Rooted in the refined restraint of the Louis XVI era, this pedestal column embodies the Neoclassical ideal of harmonious proportion and architectural grandeur. The design draws on the decorative vocabulary of late-18th-century French court furniture — foliate scrolls, acanthus masks, garland swags, and urn motifs — translated into a freestanding column that commands attention in any interior.
The column rests on a stepped marble base and carries a matching marble capital platform, both rendered in crisp ivory-white stone. Between them rises an elaborate gilt bronze shaft — cast and hand-chased to reveal every leaf, ribbon, and figural detail — culminating in a bulbous urn-form knop that anchors the upper trunk. Each gilt bronze element is finished in warm 24-karat gold to achieve the luminous, aged patina synonymous with French Empire ateliers.
Every pedestal is individually handcrafted in the Brass & Wood workshops in Egypt by artisans trained in classical European joinery and metal-chasing traditions. The marble panels are hand-selected for uniformity of colour and veining; the bronze mounts are cast from original master moulds and finished entirely by hand before assembly.
