This bombe commode draws direct inspiration from the golden age of French cabinetmaking, when master ébénistes perfected the art of the serpentine silhouette. The dramatically curved front and sides, graceful cabriole legs, and flowing ormolu mounts recreate the exuberant spirit of the Rococo court in every detail crafted by Brass & Wood artisans in Egypt.
The façade is dressed in hand-cut marquetry featuring a central floral urn cartouche surrounded by scrolling botanical vines, all inlaid into richly grained rosewood and kingwood veneers. A veined marble slab crowns the piece, adding a cool, luxurious counterpoint to the warm wood tones beneath.
Cast antique-brass ormolu mounts — corner sabots, escutcheons, and scrolled pull handles — are hand-finished to a warm golden patina, echoing the gilt bronzes of the finest 18th-century French commodes. Every fitting is individually aged and polished for depth and authenticity.
Each commode is built on a solid hardwood carcase, hand-shaped and assembled by Brass & Wood master craftsmen. The result is a heirloom-grade piece that brings museum-level European grandeur to contemporary living and dining spaces.
