Place this vase on a console table in a well-lit room and watch what happens: the deep crimson glass ignites from within, the antique gold brass mounts catch the ambient light, and the whole piece becomes a small event in the room. Inspired by the decorative vocabulary of the Belle Époque (1871–1914), when Parisian ateliers pushed ornamental metalwork and colored glass to their most theatrical heights, this vase faithfully reproduces that tradition of layered splendor — the glass as jewel, the brass as setting.
The body is formed from deeply ribbed crimson glass, its vertical flutes creating a sense of architectural structure that catches and refracts light as the piece is viewed from different angles. Four rope-twist brass uprights rise from a central waist fitting to an engraved collar band at the rim, each upright crowned with a cast pine-cone finial — a classical motif borrowed from antiquity and revived throughout the Neoclassical and Belle Époque periods. Between the uprights, hand-cast trailing ivy garland mounts in antique gold brass drape naturally across the glass body, their modeled leaves and stems rendered with botanical precision. The base is an openwork scrolled tripod in antique gold brass, its three scrolled feet lending both visual lightness and stable support. Every metal element is hand-finished to an antique gold patina, warm and slightly matte — deliberate craft, not wear.
Weight: 4.0 kg. This piece ships with Minimal Assembly required — the glass body seats securely into the brass mounting frame. Handcrafted in Egypt by Brass & Wood artisans.
At Brass & Wood, every decorative object is produced by hand in our Egyptian workshops, where metalworking traditions and an eye for European classical detail converge. The brass mounts are cast individually, hand-chased, and patinated by our craftsmen — no two pieces will carry an identical finish. This is not mass production dressed as craft; it is craft that happens to be reproducible.
The body is deep crimson ribbed glass. All mounts, uprights, collar, finials, and the tripod base are cast and finished in antique gold brass. The piece contains no wood.
Minimal assembly is required — the glass body fits securely into the brass frame. No tools are needed. Full instructions are included with delivery.
